Australian CGA Visits Isle of Man
Submitted on: Jun 16, 2010
Perry Crosswhite, CEO Australian CGA, visited the Isle of Man at the beginning of May to receive an update of progress from the CYG2011 Organising Committee and to view sporting venues, catering areas and the Games Village ‘Douglas’. As well as receiving information regarding all aspects of the Games, Perry, accompanied by his wife, Janice, passed on to the OC his insight and knowledge of previous Games, which will help the committee in future planning of the event.
Perry and his wife travelled to the island by ferry from Liverpool and were very complementary of the trip. The CYG2011 are advising all nations of this forward travel option following arrival in the UK and where possible to travel to the UK via Manchester. A special rate for ferry travel has been negotiated with the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company and this can only be accessed through our preferred travel agent, Regency Travel.
Australia is the third CGA to have visited the island, after England and Wales. Scotland is due to visit in June and South Africa in November 2010.
